TARGET CITIES

MS NAM partners with church planter couples for the first five years of their planting experience. Briefly, we can assist with: ongoing training, monthly rent support, grants to purchase real estate, connection and fellowship, all expenses covered attendance at our annual church planter retreat, access to a network of fellow church planters for mutual support and guidance, complimentary registration to various District events, and much more through our expansive benefit package. No! While formal ministry training through our UPCI-endorsed Bible colleges is always a benefit, most of our church planters are not Bible college graduates. Real-world, “on-the-job” training received through hands-on ministry in your local church is the best teacher. However, the more prepared you are for planting a church, the more likely you are to succeed. North American Missions has training courses available through ministrycentral.com as well as the annual Launch Training Event.

Target cities are prayerfully considered and selected by the District NAM Director and Committee, Presbyters, and the District Superintendent before being submitted for approval by the District Board. Towns currently on the Target Cities list do not have a United Pentecostal Church witness or are in need of additional works due to the size of their population.

Just because the community, town, or city that you are feeling a burden for does not appear on our pre-approved list of Target Cities does not mean that you cannot apply to begin a work in that area. New works in areas with existing churches can be considered in agreement with local pastors, the Presbyter of that area, the MS NAM Committee, and the Board of the Mississippi District UPCI.
